Thrifting Experience!

Last week I discovered a brand new thrift store – but this one was on a much larger scale than anything I’ve ever been to before.

It was in the center of Halifax, Nova Scotia and it was called The Funky Flea thrift market. It’s only open on Sundays from 9-3 and is an indoor thrift market on the site of the Halifax Exhibition Center.

The market doesn’t just sell clothes – it sells anything from vintage clothing to lawnmowers. There are literally hundreds of different vendors all under the one roof, and you can even buy something to eat while you’re there too!

I went in primarily looking for clothes, and I ended up finding some Nike Dunks for $40. I could easily have bought a ton of other things, but I had to refrain myself.

The venue was easy to find, it was just off the highway. Upon arriving there was a ton of parking, and when we approached the entrance our temperature was taken before we were able to enter the building. It cost $3 per person to go around the market, which I thought was pretty cheap considering. They only accepted cash, however there was an ATM machine inside the building, as well as washrooms.

Amongst the many vendors were people selling :

  • Children’s toys
  • Jewelry
  • Clothing
  • Shoes
  • Antiques
  • Tools
  • Food
  • Records & DVD’s
  • Artwork
  • Specialty Baked Goods
